Cross County Trail Marathon and Half Marathon

Unknown-5The inaugural Cross County Trail Marathon and Half Marathon is set for Thursday, September 25, 2014. Both the marathon and half marathon will start at 7:30AM. This event will take place in its entirety in Virginia on a 3.28 mile section of the Cross County Trail surfaced by crushed stone and dirt.

Packet Pickup

Wednesday night pre-race packet pickup time and place is TBD. Race morning packet pickup commences at 6:45 near the race start/finish.

Unknown-6The races take place on a crushed stone and dirt surfaced section of the Cross County Trail. The course is fairly flat with about 222 feet of elevation gain and loss in the half marathon and about 444 feet of gain and loss in the marathon. All finishers will receive a finishers awards. There are no age group awards or first finisher awards.

Aid stations for the half marathon are located at miles 1.4, 2.8, 4.4, 4.9, 6.6, 8.4, 11.0, and 11.5

Aid stations for the marathon are located at miles 1.4, 2.8, 4.4, 4.9, 6.6, 8.4, 11.0, 11.5, 13.1, 14.5, 15.9, 17.6, 18.0, 19.7, 21.1, 22.5, 24.1, and 24.6


Runners have eight hours to complete their respective races.


A Mid-Atlantic Marathon and Half Marathon Series shirt will be provided to entrants who enter before the yet-to-be-determined shirt maker deadline for printing the shirts. All finishers will receive a quality finisher medal.


As is the case with most races, there will be no refunds of entry fees to entrants. Transfers of race bibs from one runner to another is also not allowed. This event is limited to 200 entrants. There will not be a waiting list if the race fills.
