
It has been super to put on a race on the Barnum Rail Trail these past five years (2014-2018). If you have never been to the trail I recommend that you visit sometime. However, it is time to check out another race venue in WV. Altis Endurance Sports is excited about conducting the inaugural Eastern Panhandle Marathon and Half Marathon in Martinsburg, WV on Monday September 30, 2019. The 2019 Mid-Atlantic Marathon and Half Marathon Series will take place from September 28th-October 2nd. The events in the Series are the Cross County Trail Marathon and Half, the C&O Marathon and Half, the Eastern Panhandle Marathon and Half, the Hancock Marathon and Half, and the GAP Trestles Marathon and Half. In order, the series races take place in VA, DC, WV, MD, and PA. Run one, some, or all the Mid-Atlantic Marathon and Half Marathon Series races.
The fifth annual race is set for Saturday, September 29, 2018. Both the marathon and half marathon will start at 8:00AM. This event will take place in its entirety in West Virginia on the eastern bank of the Potomac River. The start/finish is located at 39.44199, -79.11420 down the road from the Barnum Whitewater Area. Direction links to the start/finish are provided below. If one uses maps.google.com, the start finish can be viewed on Barnum Road 1.4 miles past 530 Barnum Road Keyser, WV 26726. The Barnum Rail Trail Marathon and Half Marathon is the fourth race in the Mid-Atlantic Marathon and Half Marathon Series taking place from September 20-24, 2017 in the Cumberland, MD area. The other events in the Series are the Brush Tunnel Marathon and Half, the GAP Marathon and Half, the GAP Trestles Marathon and Half, and the Hancock Marathon and Half. In order, the series races take place in MD, MD, PA, WV, and MD.
