Course Info

The half marathon course is a typical Altis Endurance course that uses a quarter marathon length (6.56 miles) of trail. The half marathon course is a simple out-and-back course. Halfers head west on the GAP from the start. After running west for 6.56 miles halfers turn around and head east back to the start/finish line. According to mapmyrun.com the course has 1056 feet of elevation gain and loss. Since the elevation chart shows a bunch of hills or bumps on the course that do not exist, it is likely that the 1056 feet of elevation gain and loss is a high number. The course map link can be viewed at https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/2745955636.

The marathon course is a loop. The loop doesn’t close completely however. The marathon start line is on the west side of Rockdale Road, and the marathon finish line is on the east side of Rockdale Road so that runners only have to cross the road once during the race. At the start runners head west on the GAP for just over a mile. Upon reaching the course west turnaround runners turn around and head east on the GAP for just over a half marathon. Upon reaching the course east turnaround point at the Meyersdale Train Station, runners turn around and head west on the GAP back to the finish in Rockwood. According to mapmyrun.com the course has 2360 feet of elevation gain and loss. Since the elevation chart shows a bunch of hills or bumps on the course that do not exist, it is highly likely that the 2360 feet of elevation gain and loss is a high number. The course map link can be viewed at https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/2745265519.
